Mogadishu University Scientific Journal
It is a scientific journal issued annually by the Research Unit of MU, edited by Associate Editors and refereed by Advisor Board of the University.
Objectives
The Journal is aimed at providing opportunities for researchers who wish to publish their papers and scientific researches for different areas.
Language of the Journal: English and Arabic
Publication Rules
A. For the Journal
The Journal publishes scientific papers in both Arabic and English according to the English papers , the below conditions must be followed:
- The research should be original, with a complete scientific methodology.
- The language used must be sound and clear.
- The research should be between 4000 -8000 words.
- The manuscript of research should be an A4 size.
- The submitted research manuscripts and articles must be font 12 of (Times New Roman) with line- spacing of 1.5 cm.
- Titles should be font 18, while sub-titles should be font 16.
- The research should be well-documented.
- List of references must be arranged alphabetically.
- The research paper must not have been previously published in any other journal.
- Each paper should be accompanied by an abstract.
11.The article /paper should be accompanied by a summary of a biography of the authors. 4-second Edition Issue 2, 2016
.If the paper gets initial acceptance, it will be sent to referees, and their identity will be kept secret.
13.The editorial board has the right to edit articles as they deem necessary in terms of wording or linguistic review.
14.After publication of the paper, both the journal and author have full right to reuse it in any form though providing the first publication is acknowledged.

B. For Students Researches
Roles and Responsibilities of The Faculties
Proceeding from responsibilities and duties towards achieving the goals and mission of the university , deans and council faculties have to make sure graduation theses requirements which stipulated in this regulation in order to ensure the quality and standard of researches.
The Roles and Duties that the Faculties have to Fulfil :
- Make sure topics of thesis proposed by students to avoid duplicated researches
- Assist the student in clarifying topics.
- Follow-up supervisors in order to achieve the quality of researches in accordance with the university system
- Evaluate thesis before being discussed to make sure their conformity to research regulation
- Participate in discussion of thesis
- Not pass thesis that did not meet the pre-stated conditions
- Keep topics of thesis in soft and hard copy
Roles and Responsibilities of Supervisor
The primary function of a Supervisor is to provide the student with an overall guidance of the proposal/thesis and to suggest corrective measures, therefore, the supervisor will carry out the following roles/ duties:
- Direct the student to relevant areas of information and literature sources.
- Guide students on appropriate methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Maintain regular supervisory contacts with a student in accordance with faculty policy, as stipulated in the Proposal/thesis Supervision Guidelines, and keep records of same.
- Inform student when his/her work is below standard and/or when progress is not adequate.
- Read and comment on the draft of proposal, report, and advise student where changes are required, if any, to reach desired standard.
Roles and Responsibilities of Student
The prime responsibility of the student is to manage his/her proposal/thesis and to maintain regular supervisory contacts with his/her Supervisor. The student should realize that the responsibility for the work submitted is entirely his/hers basing on this, the students will act upon following roles/duties:
- Agree with the Supervisor on a schedule of meetings, and adhere to it.
- Take the initiative to keep contact with the supervisor to ensure progress of his/her work.
- Keep records of supervisory contacts and meetings with the Supervisor and outcomes of the discussion arising therefrom.
- Take the initiative to discuss any problem arising from his/her proposal/thesis with his/her Supervisor, such that they are resolved as early as possible.
- Submit deliverable(s) as specified in their respective proposal/thesis guidelines.
- Abide by all regulation in force, in particular, “Proposal/thesis guidelines”.
