MASTER OF ARTS IN ECONOMIC POLICY & PLANNING
Mogadishu University has decided to launch MA in EPP program after it has observed a higher demand for both public and private sector employees and students who obtained bachelor of economic degree. The university has completed all the necessary materials and human resources to conduct this course inside Somalia.
The main objective of this course is to strengthen the capacity of the Somali students to generate skills and knowledge essential to the development of economic policy and planning inside economic institutions.
The program will also admit international students who will bring resources into the country through tuition fees, living expenses and different experiments.
The program will provide graduates with a solid foundation in economic concepts and methods for various purposes including applied anaylsis as professionals with government, business and nonprofit organizations.
The major trust of the restructuring of the MAEPP program was the introduction of plans A and B in to the program. Whereas students wishing to pursue plan A are required to do coursework and addition write a research dissertation, those pursuing pan B are required to do coursework only. Because the students taking plan A do a dissertation, they are required to take two semesters of coursework. On the other hand those taking plan B are required to do four semesters of coursework.
